1. Women in Black in Augusta

21.12.24 WinB Christmas Eve

Richard and Rita, Bob and Susan, Hot Rod Mike, Jimmy Midnight, Lonesome George, Cathryn, Lucia, Cynthia and The Maine Paparazzi held the Women in Black weekly vigil on Christmas Eve with signs and flags flying and vehicular passengers waving and honking on a beautiful, sunny, 20 degree wintry day. Originally scheduled to have a song fest, the cold interfered, but vigil attendees managed to sing "Give Peace A Chance" while Lonesome George passed out chocolates. Ended the day with photos of downtown Augusta and ice coated trees in the sunset.
Every Friday, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm, the Augusta area Women in Black hold a peace vigil in front of Lithgow Library. Augusta Women in Black have held a weekly peace vigil continuously since 2002, except for the first Friday of the "Trump Pandemic". Next year will be our 20th year.
