21.08.03 Common Cause and Democracy Maine For the People Act Rally at the State House
After Friday's Women in Black peace vigil, Jimmy Midnight, Mike Hotrod and The Maine Paparazzi attended a Common Cause and Democracy Maine rally at the State House to urge Maine's US Senators to support and pass the For the People Act on September 3, 2021.
Democracy Maine spokesperson Scott Turcotte introduced Maine's Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, Betsy Sweet and State Rep. Teresa Pierce. All three speakers emphasized that this sweeping voting rights legislation is a once in a generation opportunity to ensure that every American - no matter where they live, what they look like, or what they believe - has an equal right to vote.
