19.03.23 Lenten Peace Vigil for Disarmament at GD/BIW in Bath

14 Maine peace activists held a Lenten Peace Vigil for Disarmament at GD/BIW in Bath on March 23, 2019 amidst sunny skies and blustery winds. At 11:30 AM, the peace activists gathered in front of the GD/BIW administration building and marched to the middle gate to hand out leaflets at the 12 noon shift change. After leafletting, Bruce Gagnon announced the 'christening' of the third Zumwalt 'stealth' destroyer named after LBJ on Saturday, April 27. Maine peace activists will gather at 8:30 AM on the north end of Washington St. across from the US Post Office in opposition to the launching.
Alternative media videographer and retired BIW employee Peter Woodruff also recorded the vigil.
