15.02.28 Lenten Vigil at GD/BIW in Bath
Global Network hosts a weekly Peace Vigil on Saturday at 11:30 AM during Lent outside the gates of the General Dynamics/Bath Iron Works shipyard in Bath.
Bruce Gagnon says "Lent is a time to fast from our culture of excess by resisting the temptation of militarism. We need to stand together to express our opposition to this ongoing crime against peace which is the building of these guided missile warships here at BIW."
At the February 28 Peace Vigil, I ran into my old friend Ray Shadis, sculptor and citizen raconteur, founder and leader of the Maine Nuclear Referendum Committee in 1980. As Ray observed, "nuke till you puke".
