21.09.22 Homegrown Healthcare of Maine's New Cannabis Grow Center
On a foggy autumn equinox morning, I visited the new Cannabis Grow Center at Homegrown Acres LLC located on 155 acres in Readfield, Manchester and Winthrop. Located on the old Wyman Farm and the former Lipman Poultry Research Center, this sprawling, hilly farm is now a grow facility for Homegrown Healthcare of Maine and five other Cannabis Caregivers.
The soon to be renovated facility will have water, alcohol and butane extraction labs utilizing all methods of extraction on site. There will be a third party testing facility along side of a tissue culture lab for genetic preservation and research. The "barn project" is slated for a fall of 2022 completion. Ground will be broken for four polycarbonate year round greenhouses during the next week. Two will be on line by December with the other two slated for March 2022 completion.
Glenn Lewis notes that he is now living a farmer's life. Sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. But he adds that he is thankfully well enough to growl about it.
