17.01.04 Open House for New Homegrown Healthcare Alternative Wellness, Apothecary and Learning Center in Winthrop
The new Homegrown Healthcare Alternative Wellness, Apothecary and Learning Center held an open house on January 4, 2017. Located at the corner of US Route 202 and Stanley Road (Route 135) in Winthrop, the Center houses the offices of the Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine, Canna Care Docs, New England Cannabis Consulting along with Homegrown Healthcare of Maine's Apothecary and Learning Center (Maine’s first official Cannabis school), plus a State Health Department approved teaching kitchen, which will be available for lease to cardholding patients/caregivers.
Jennifer Shaw from Fine Jabs Fiber Art, Joselyn from Blue Moose Art and Jay from Subzero Ice Carvings displayed their art. Vendors Sticky Bud Farms, Hippie Chick Naturals, Palmetto Harmony, Angry Budz, Keif Keepers, Healing Harbors Lotions and Soaps and Farmers Overall featured their products.
The Center is about more than just medical cannabis. Yoga, reiki, felting, painting and Tai Chi courses will be offered at the Center. There will be a variety of support group meetings over time like addiction recovery, cancer survivors and NEVA (veterans support).
