Carolyn Chute, author of "The Beans of Egypt, Maine" spoke at the Gulf of Maine Bookstore in Brunswick on Saturday, February 7, 2015.
At the invitation of bookstore owners, Gary Lawless and Beth Leonard, Carolyn spoke about her new book "Treat us like Dogs and we will become Wolves", which received an excellent review in the 11/23/14 New York Times, and her life as a writer.
Amongst the guests were Cindy Brown of Harry's Hill, long time Maine peace activist Stan Lofchie (who is also a character in the book), journalist/activist Lance Tapley, journalist/activist Lew Kingsbury, author Crash Barry and Sally Brotherton of Augusta Women in Black.
