18.01.09 Annual Meeting of the MOFGA Board of Directors at the Augusta Civic Center
The annual meeting of the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, founders and sponsors of the Maine Common Ground Country Fair, was held at the Augusta Civic Center on January 9, 2018 during the Maine Agricultural Trades Fair.
MOFGA President David Shipman chaired the meeting where reports from various Standing Committees were presented, changes in the by-laws were adopted and new directors were elected to the MOFGA Board. In response to a question from The Maine Paparazzi about the Certified Clean Cannabis Program, MOFGA Certification Director Chris Grisby stated that the program started with five growers, has been officially approved by the MOFGA Board and now has 13 growers. After a presentation on the CGCF, The Maine Paparazzi noted that the report did not emphasize the need for a four day CGCF. An update on the Maine Harvest Harvest project proposed that a Credit Union will soon be available for MOFGA members. Larry Dansinger raised the issue of responsible investing in regard to the banks and financial institutions that MOFGA does business with. Over 100 MOFGA members attended the meeting.
