1. Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor, Maine

20.07.22 Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens

The Maine Paparazzi and Miss Liberty visited the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor on July 22, 2020. An overcast day with temps in the low 70s and an occasional light shower.
Stopping first at the Alewives Fish Ladder in Damariscotta Mills. Pleased to see that improvements to the walkway and railings had taken place prior to the "Trump Virus".
Arriving ahead of our 2 PM reservation at CMBG, we drove Barters Island Road to the Barters Island swing bridge on Trevett. Reed & Reed is constructing a new automated swing bridge to replace the hand drawn swing bridge. It's called progress.
Appointments, social distancing and requiring face masks of all is required for entering the Gardens. The butterfly house had been cannabilized by an errant bird earlier in the week. A new bee hive area has been established for the garden bees along with an educational display. The rhododendrons, tulips and some of the roses are past bloom, but there is so much still at the Gardens. Art is everywhere. Stayed till closing at 5 PM.
